Dear OSG colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that registration for the 87th Otosclerosis Study Group meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana is now open.  Anil Lalwani, our current president, has put together an outstanding scientific program focusing on, "The Evaluation and Management of Juvenile Otosclerosis and Congenital Middle Ear Malformations." I have attached the agenda for your records. In addition, we will be having the OSG video Doc’s Discussion competition following the scientific program. If you, or one of your residents/fellows, has an interesting case with photo/video documentation, please have them submit the case for consideration.  The cases should be between 3-5 minutes in duration. The deadline for submission is Labor Day, September 1st, 2025.  Any cases relevant to otosclerosis will be considered, but those pertaining to juvenile otosclerosis, or congenital malformations would be particularly welcomed.

As mentioned in a previous email, we have once again procured a fantastic venue, the "Commission Row" Restaurant, located at 110 Delaware Street. The indoor space is on the second floor and can accommodate over 250 people. The venue is surrounded by a patio that has been reserved for us as well.  In addition, the restaurant will be able to accommodate my request for "The Prisoner" wine to complement our entrées.

Based on the size of the venue, we will once again be able to allow neurotology fellows to attend as guests of our members at a discounted rate of $75. If you are planning to bring a neurotology fellow as a guest, please encourage them to participate in the OSG video Doc’s Discussion competition. They will have a chance to win a $200 gift card. To avoid any confusion, we have set up a separate section for registering fellows. This will allow you to complete your registration and theirs at the same time. When registering a specific fellow, please include their name and contact information. If you would like to sponsor a non-specific fellow, please write “Sponsor” in the provided section and we will contact one of the interested fellows and let them know of your generosity.

We are again fortunate to have tremendous exhibitor support for this year’s meeting. This would not be possible without your attendance. Please take this opportunity to sign up for the upcoming OSG meeting so we will have an accurate headcount for the restaurant. You can register for the meeting by clicking the following link. If you have any difficulties trying to register, please click on this short video link that will walk you through the registration process.

Lastly, when booking your flights, remember that the Otosclerosis Study Group has shifted from Saturday night to Friday night, October 10th, and will follow the ANS’s Fab Friday meeting. To avoid delays getting into the venue, everyone needs to register early for this meeting. We will set up a booth outside of the ANS scientific session (thanks to Kristen and the ANS). This will allow you to pick up your name tag prior to the event. Please let Kristen know how much we appreciate this courtesy.

We look forward to having another fun and educational event this year in Indianapolis. I can assure you that the program and menu will not disappoint.

All the best,

John
Secretary/Treasurer
Otosclerosis Study Group

The venue for the 87th OSG meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana has been selected.

I sincerely want to thank everyone who volunteered to sponsor a neurotology fellow last year. The fellows I talked to really appreciated it. After discussing this with our president, Anil Lalwani, we have decided to do this again. To off-set the costs, we will have had to increase the meal cost to $100/person this year. (The actual cost would be $225/person.) If you are interested in sponsoring a fellow, please let me know.  If you are sponsoring a specific fellow, please submit their name and contact information.

If you have colleagues that you think would be suitable for membership in our organization, please have them complete an application and a letter of recommendation from two members of the OSG to support their application. This needs to be completed and submitted before August.

I have had numerous inquiries regarding the OSG History of Stapes Surgery mugs.  If you are interested in donating $30 to the OSG, the OSG will be glad to present you with a mug.  The shipping costs are substantial, so if you want to obtain a mug at the OSG meeting and avoid shipping costs, let me know and I will bring them to the meeting.  This year’s mugs feature the magnificent 7 of Stapes surgery; Kessel, Toynbee, Politzer, Sourdille, Lempert, Rosen and Shea.  Yes, they each have a QR code that highlights their contributions. Please click this link for a preview of this updated mug.

Anil Lalwani is putting together an outstanding scientific program to complement the OSG’s Doc’s Discussion.  If you have an interesting case with good video documentation, please consider submitting it for consideration. Remember, the OSG will award a $100 Visa card to the winner.

Lastly, don’t forget, this year’s meeting will take place on Friday night and not Saturday night. Kristin has been kind enough to allow us to set up a registration table at the ANS meeting site.  This will avoid long lines.  Try to get to the venue by 5:30PM. Hor d’oeuvres and wine will be served prior to the business meeting and scientific session.   We look forward to seeing everyone in Indianapolis.

All the best,

John
