Dear OSG colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that registration for the 88^th Otosclerosis Study Group meeting in Los Angeles, California, on Friday, October 16^th, 2026, Dr. Stephan Cass has already organized the scientific program. This year’s guest speaker will be Prof. Julia Dlugaiczyk, MD, who is the “Professor for Clinical and Experimental Neurotology” at the University of Zurich. Her keynote presentation will be “My otosclerosis patient is dizzy – what to ask and what to test before and after stapes surgery.” I am sure we will all learn something from this. Following Prof. Dlugaiczyk’s presentation, we will once again have our “always entertaining” OSG Doc’s Discussion.

As some of you may recall, we utilized Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine, located at 800 W Olympic Blvd Suite A-135, Los Angeles, CA 90015, for our OSG meeting in 2021. At that meeting, we were able to squeeze everyone into one meeting room. This year, with our growth in membership, we have arranged a buyout of the entire Fleming’s restaurant. The venue is within easy walking distance of the convention center and the hotels. As you may recall, the food and wine were fantastic. This year we will not let you starve during the presentations. We will see how it works with dinner being served during the Scientific Sessions. I am counting on everyone to be respectful of the presenters.

Thanks to the kindness of Kristin, you will be able to pick up your badges etc. during the ANS meeting. Chloe, my Executive Administrator Assistant, will be there to assist. All dues and registration must be paid prior to the event.

As of today, we will be opening registration for this year’s meeting. I will be sending out the exhibitors’ invitations. Please reach out to those exhibitors who participated last year and let them know how much you appreciate their support. These exhibitors include Med-El, Oticon Medical, Stryker, Karl Storz, Tympanogen, Grace Medical, Kurz Medical, Akouos, Cochlear, Advanced Bionics, Regeneron, Earlens, and Medtronics.

Several of our members have already referred qualified candidates for consideration of membership. If you have a colleague that you think would be suitable for membership, please have them complete the application using the following link. They will need to include their CV as well as two letters of recommendation from OSG members. All applications must be received by September 14^th, 2026.

Based on the size of the venue, we will once again be able to allow neurotology fellows to attend as guests of our members at a discounted rate of $75. If you are planning to bring a neurotology fellow as a guest, please encourage them to participate in the OSG video Doc’s Discussion competition. They will have a chance to win a $200 gift card. 

Lastly, don’t forget to record some of your interesting stapes cases that would be suitable for the OSG Doc’s Discussion competition. I know we can expect another strong showing from Dr. Wanna’s colleagues as well as Prof. Marchioni’s fellows.
