Dear OSG Colleagues,
You should have received the email below regarding the upcoming 85th Otosclerosis Study Group Meeting. As in the past, we have subsidized the banquet so that your cost will only be $75. Please register for the meeting and indicate how many individuals will be attending. The executive committee would like to encourage you and your fellows to submit a case study for our Doc's discussion.

Dear OSG Colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you that the venue has been selected for the upcoming OSG meeting in Nashville and our OSG president, Bruce Gantz is fine tuning the scientific program.

It is not often that we have an Academy meeting in Nashville so this year we are going to do something a little bit different.  This year the OSG is going to go “country”.  That’s right, forget the ties and blazers, bring your blue jeans, and cowboy/cowgirl hats & boots if you have them.

After last year’s meeting in Philadelphia, I promised the vendors that I would find a venue that could accommodate our rapidly growing membership.  The City Winery’s main venue can accommodate up to 400 seated so this year we will have plenty of space for the vendors and members. If you know additional vendors who have not exhibited with us in the past, please reach out to them.  Give them my email mcelveen.us@gmail.com and I will send them the registration materials.

Since we have this additional space, I would also like to do something special for the current neurotology fellows.  I would like you to consider sponsoring a fellow for this event.  I will check with the fellowship programs to determine if their fellows are coming to the Academy meeting and then reach out to those of you who are willing to contribute $75 to cover the costs of the event for the fellow. I will make sure they know who is sponsoring them for this event.  Please indicate if you are willing to become a potential sponsor and if you already know a fellow you are interested in sponsoring, let me know that as well.  By doing this, we will give these fellows a taste of what the OSG is all about and hopefully many of them will submit cases for consideration in the OSG’s Doc’s Discussion competition.

Lastly, I want to thank each of you for making the effort to attend the OSG meetings each year.  WiIn addition to the scientific program and “doc’s discussion”, we are planning the OSG version of the Grand Ole Opry for your entertainment. As you can see from the attached photo, this venue has a professional stage and we plan on making good use of it. Hopefully, everyone will find this meeting educational and enjoyable.

Without your participation, we would not be able to attract the commercial support. September 30th will be here before we know it! If you have any colleagues that you feel would be suitable for membership in the OSG, encourage them to go to osgonline.com and complete an application.  I am looking forward to another fun meeting this year and hopefully will be wearing cowboy boots and not an orthopedic one.
